If the new moon is sighted in Iran and a religious authority confirms it, taking into consideration the fact that the new moon is sighted in the west of Iran, then can the people in Afghanistan consider it the beginning of the new month too?
Despite the fact that the confirmation by a religious authority of the sighting of the new moon is not accountable, I personally believe that, in two states which share the same night, the sighting of the new moon is satisfactorily and equally accountable and valid for both if the moon is sighted in one of them, even if they only share a very short part of the night.
